Well, we are working on coming up with a name but WOW, I have to admit that I was focusing on girl names more since we already have 3! We would like to put some family history into his name. I thought it would be fun to invite our family and friends to participate!

Our family took a poll, and we think your boy should be named Samuel (Sam) Veatch. Samuel comes from your mom's side a whole lot of generations back Samuel Saul Dunlap. It has a ring to it; Sam Veatch. Wink, wink.
ReplyDeleteYeah for boys!!! We didn't have a name for Adam until 3 days before he was born. And then we didn't have a middle name until he got here. Isn't parenting fun?
ReplyDeleteGraeden was named on his birthday. Elliott was named a few days after he was born. Jett was named about 2 weeks after he was born. Evan was named the day after he was born. And Jocelyn was one of the names Tymon had wanted if Graeden was a girl. We added her middle name (Ava for Evan) a few days after she was born. We happen to have our next boy or girl name picked out. I liked having Jocelyn's name early. However, it was also nice to toss around names and not commit to them. We changed our minds a lot.
ReplyDeleteNames we didn't use: Tiger (Graeden was almost Tiger...and he used to roar as a baby, too), Ezekiel, Teancum, Diego...and the list goes on. Only one of our children has a family name. That's Evan who was born on my granparents' anniversary. Evan is a form of John, my grandfather's name. We didn't chose that name for obvious reasons. We also didn't know that he'd be born on that day. He was 2 weeks early.
Anyway, it may be that your little guy will be born on a special day of an ancestor, too and you may choose that ancestor to name him after. Or just pick a cool name. Good luck and happy hunting!
Edward C. Veatch. Mike's dad and, well.... hehehe
